The Innkeepers,
Phil and Kathy
Meet your innkeepers and hosts,
Phil and Kathy.
Lifelong Pennsylvania residents, Phil and Kathy bring warmth, experience, and a love of hospitality to the Bellefonte B&B.
After raising their family, they decided to start a new chapter - combining their fondness for travel, connection, and home - by opening their own doors to other travelers.
Phil, who studied engineering at Penn State University, and Kathy, an art education graduate from Millersville University, both appreciate the balance of structure and creativity that goes into creating a memorable stay.
Inspired by their own travels with family, they understand how meaningful it is to find a place that feels both personal and comfortable.
There’s nothing quite like home, and Phil and Kathy would love to share theirs
with travelers from near and far.
“We genuinely enjoy meeting new people,
hearing their stories, and providing a space where guests can relax, recharge, and feel truly welcome.”
~Phil and Kathy
The Home
You'll enjoy the grandeur of this historic home, while benefiting from the comfort
of new and modern amenities. Newly renovated rooms, common areas,
and secluded courtyard and garden area are available for your relaxation.
Three private guest rooms are available, each with an ensuite bathroom.
Nestled in the heart of Historic Victorian Bellefonte, the Bellefonte B&B is a Georgian Revival home built in 1899 as the residence of baker, caterer, and confectioner, Joseph Ceader. Since then, the Ceader Home has served as a doctor’s office, a family residence, and now as a welcoming Bed and Breakfast.
The beautiful and historic brick building has been renovated and updated to be your home-away-from-home with the perfect blending of classic charm and comfortable modernization.
The Town:
“Le Belle Font!”
Legend has it that French ambassador Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Perigord, for whom Talleyrand Park is named, exclaimed “La belle fonte!” - “beautiful fountain” - upon seeing the Big Spring, source of 11 million gallons of spring water per day.
In April 2014, Bellefonte's Big Spring water was named "Pennsylvania's Best Tasting Water" at the Pennsylvania Rural Water Association Conference. Big Spring water is known for its taste and is used by local businesses, including a distillery, which chose it for its high quality.
Bellefonte is a borough in Centre County, about twelve miles northeast of State College. It is the county seat of Centre County and is home to about 6,400 people.
Since Bellefonte was first settled in 1795, it has grown into a Victorian Jewel overflowing with small-town American charm.
